The Commanderie de Dormelles
The COMMANDERIE DE DORMELLES
As a wedding photographer I often happen to shoot in exceptional places among these “The Commandery of Dormelles” is part of it.
The most beautiful day of their lives: Dina & Tony – follow this link to see the rural wedding of Dina & Tony
Dina and Tony said yes on October 15, after more than a year of preparations.
Determined to make this marriage a day that resembles them, Dina took over the organization of this beautiful day. She trusted me to immortalize it. Everyone was able to meet and celebrate this marriage at the Commanderie de Dormelles. What about this place full of memories and history?
It is an exceptional place
Located 80 km from Paris-Sud, next to Fontainebleau on the edge of the Orvanne, with an area of 14 hectares, this is an exceptional place. Dormelles offers enchanting landscapes!
It is a place full of history
According to legend, the Commandery of Dormelles belonged to the Templars. The lands of Chevalier Jean de Digny, as well as the seigniory of Ville Saint Jacques, were added in 1276 to the fief called La Grange des Vaux, wink in the name of his heir Renaud de La Grange. In the 15th century, the House of Dormelles suffered many wars, the Hospitaliers, then proprietors, literally put the building back on its feet, restoring its ruins stone by stone. In 1695 the Commandery was bought by Messire Lefebre de Caumartin, Counselor of State and Intendant of Finance. A part of the domain of La Commanderie des Templiers has been listed in the Historic Monuments inventory since 1949. In 2015, the place was bought and completely restored. Today many marriages and events are celebrated in this exceptional place. – Visit their website–
